Before we talk about the outfit details. Let’s talk about this phenomenal shoot with Roxanna of @StillCo! I was so exited to be working with Roxanne. Roxanne and her husband Trent, have a phenomenal business together called Still Co. & recently shot one of my best friend’s wedding in April, and the photos are gorgeous! So I was thrilled that we were finally able to work together. This is just one part of the shoot— and I loved the finished product & she truly captured the beauty of my latest style obsession… the Nouveau Suit.
Some things never go out of style, and we call those lovely pieces– classics. I live for a #classic blouse, #classic blazer, especially a #classic suit but #withatwist. And that’s when #TheNouveauSuit comes into play. The #NouveauSuit flows seamlessly into you wardrobe & with modern tailoring/design! That’s why I love this suit by Express. It’s a fresh twist on suiting because of the shawl collar, and elongated boyfriend fit, and the pants have a paperboy waist with a tapered leg. The main thing I love about this suit is the boyfriend fit of the blazer, which is relaxed, and that I could pair the blazer or the pants with other items in my closet, and that is the wonderful thing about #TheNouveauSuit. You’ll know I love a versatile wardrobe, and when I’m purchasing pieces.I look for items that can easily flow with others in my closet, but I’ll talk about that more later. Oh and I can’t forget the shoes and the bag! I’m a total shoeaholic, add leopard, and a leather backpack and I’m swooning.
Alternatively, this blazer could easily go with a pair of leather leggings, ankle strap pumps, a long penance necklace & a high low tank or just a jersey one– for the weekend. Also, these pants would pair perfectly with a black/off-white sexy silky V-neck blouse, and leopard calf hair pumps for date night, or easily pair with a button up crepe blouse & black traditional pumps for the workweek– and that’s what I mean by wardrobe versatility. What is the use in buying a piece, if it can only be worn one way & you aren’t getting a good cost per wear out of it? In fashion, the cost-per wear analysis has helped me justify my more expensive and my less expensive purchases alike. Essentially, you divide the cost of the item by the amount of times you’ll think you’ll actually wear it. It sounds funny, but it’s actually helped me justify and also not purchase a few items lol. Quite honestly, I would’ve bought these shoes whether they fit my cost per wear or analysis or not! #sorrynotsorry. Did you peep the details? They are pink and green leopard!! When I saw them, I knew they were coming home with me because they are my sorority colors & because they are LEOPARD! It’s almost as if the “Shoe Gods” made them just for me and nestled them right at Lennox Square store so I could find them! Sooo yes, I picked them up while I was in Atlanta, and yes they were worth the money (plus they were on sale).
Another thing I love about this suit is that it easily transitions into my fall wardrobe. I’ve literally worn it with jeans + a white tee with skinny jeans + black booties; over a black body-con mini for date night, casually paired with boyfriend jeans, white tennis + a white tee again. The good news is that Express is STILL running there 50% off everything sale, and this entire outfit is linked on my @liketoknowit account. Just find my username– Prissy_with_pearls & Shop this look!
