//What To Wear //

Have you ever just stood in your closet and gazed at the array of tops, jeans, and dresses and STILL felt like you had nothing to wear? I know I have, especially on Date Night. Nothing makes a woman’s wardrobe seem more inadequate then trying to figure out what to wear on date night; whether it’s a first date, second date, or even date night with your significant other.  The key is to find an outfit that you feel comfortable and sexy in at the same time.

That’s why I love this look, it’s effortless, sexy, and versatile all at the same time. The duster, the heels, the top, the bandage skirt,  are an easy combination. You can easily make this look your own by adding your favorite top, bandage skirt or jeans, then your favorite sexy heel. I love this duster, I purchased it at Nordstrom Rack for only $20 bucks! The bandage skirt is old and from White House Black Market, but BCBG Maxazria makes exceptional ones. My fav heel right now is Steve Madden “Carrson” sandal. Honey, it goes with EVERYTHING!

//Where To Go//

I’m excited about sharing one of my favorite Date night destinations in Columbia, the ever-hip, Five Points.

Five Points is a Columbia staple: it’s vibrant, hip, and has the perfect mix of equally cool & luxe establishments; which makes it perfect for date night. On every corner, there’s either a restaurant, bar, or shop all with a certain Je ne sais quoi. So here are just a few of my date night picks in Five Points.

$

Pho Viet

I was thrilled when Pho Viet opened it Five Points, and actually had Pho for the first time here. It’s quickly become my favorite when I’m in Columbia for Pho & is the perfect spot for old and new Pho lovers (no pun intended). If you’ve never been it’s a must, they provide vegetarian, vegan, and even seafood pho selections. When it comes to Pho, this place is Pho-Tastic :).

Groucho’s Deli

If you know what an STP Dipper with 45 Sauce is, then you are a Grouchian. If not, then you should be! They have countless locations, but the one in Five Points is a staple for me ever since undergrad. Groucho’s Deli is Columbia’s original Delicatessen & has been serving Columbia since 1941. They literally have the BEST subs & salads. My favorite is the Junior STP all Turkey with 45 Sauce. So you can’t go wrong with Groucho’s Deli for your oh so chill date night.

Nicky’s Pizzeria

Whether you just want a slice or whether you’re buying a whole pie, Nicky’s is the spot for Authentic New York Pizza in Five Points.  Their menu not only includes the top NY pies, but also subs, and beer on tap. Plus, they have indoor and outdoor seating which makes for the perfect casual date night. So if you’re a pizza lover (like me) and you want a taste of NY pizza in the south, then check them out.

Publico

For exquisitely eclectic taco’s, fabulous margarita flights, fusion cuisine, and outdoor dining… Then Publico is your date night pic. The hipster vibes of Publico start with their signage & carries over into the modern decor. Their Shrimp & Grits, Taco’s carne and pollo alike are phenomenal and don’t forget the array of sauces for any taste bud. This has been my go-to pick for Girl’s Night out & Date Night. Publico may be the newest in Five Points, but they’ve got my vote.

Yesterday’s Restaurant and Tavern

You won’t be able to choose between From the Macaroni and Cheese, Mahi Mahi bites, and Blue Cheese Crumble burger at this Columbia mainstay. Why? Because Yesterday’s truly has American Tavern food with a southern flare, down. All the way down and each bite is more delicious than the next; which makes it perfect for date night.

Cellar on Greene

Cellar on Greene is quite the 3-in-1 wonder. It’s a Wine shop by day and a Wine Bar & dinner spot by night. Cellar on Greene is the perfect spot for a couple who enjoys exploring new food and wine pairings. The menu changes occasionally, but my current pick is the Lobster-Pesto Mac and Cheese; a southern favorite with a yummy twist.

$$$

Saluda’s

Saluda’s is the premier destination for fine dining in Five Points. The Executive Chef Blake Faries takes fresh SC ingredients and creates classic French and Italian dishes with a Southern flare. The delectable menu, ambiance, and decor exude southern charm and elegance; which make it perfect for an upscale date night. I’d recommend reservations and the Shrimp and Grits.
